HEALTH CARE: REAL STORIES FROM SOUTH DAKOTANS

My wife and I have two married daughters, whose husbands are self-employed.

The youngest daughter was born with a congenital heart defect, and is an employed optometrist.  Our other daughter worked as a CPA until she got carpel tunnel in both arms and had to quit her job.

Hence, both daughters have pre-existing medical conditions. Do they have health insurance? The answer is a qualified, yes.

One daughter has a policy with a $10,000 deductible. The other daughter has a lower deductible, but is afraid to use her insurance for fear the insurance company will raise her rates, which are already unaffordable.

Consequently, even though they have medical insurance, the reality is they have only limited coverage.

Senator Johnson, please use your influence to bring about meaningful health care reform to provide coverage for all citizens of the United States. This issue is of utmost importance.

Respectfully,

Robert – Spearfish, SD
