February 13, 2012: The Senate will convene at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Following any Leader remarks, the Senate will be in morning business until 4:30 p.m. with Senators permitted to speak therein for up to 10 minutes each. Following morning business, the Senate will consider the nomination of Adalberto Jose Jordan, of Florida, to be U.S. Circuit Judge for the 11th Circuit with one hour of debate equally divided and controlled between Senators Leahy and Grassley or their designees. Upon the use or yielding back of time (at approximately 5:30 p.m.), the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the Jordan nomination.
I am a working mother of 2 children. I carry family insurance where I work. In January of this year, our insurance went up about $40.00 a pay period (which I get paid twice a month). Just at the beginning of May, our insurance went up another 10%. This is getting ridiculous.
My 9 year old has epilepsy, which he has had for 8 years. His doctor bills are very high just to see the doctor for a half-hour. My 6 year old just got diagnosed with acid reflex. Her doctor bill ranges as high as my sons since she has to see a specialist also.
The insurance we have doesn't cover much. Something needs to be done about this. Recently my job has been forced TO cut hours and is talking about cutting hours next month also. While I appreciate that my employer provides health benefits, it is really hard to pay the doctor bills when your hours are getting cut.
Please try and do something about this.
